Blackhawk names Corey Eckhart Director of Engineering

Blackhawk Modifications is proud to announce the appointment of Corey Eckhart to the position of Director of Engineering. Eckhart is responsible for all aspects of engineering at Blackhawk, including new engine upgrade programs, value added engineering product development, research and development and product support for Blackhawk's growing portfolio of FAAapproved supplemental type certificates.

Most recently, Eckhart was the Vice-President of Engineering and DER Flight Test Pilot at Centex Aerospace in Waco, Texas. He was responsible for certifying a variety of new engine upgrades on turbine powered aircraft and worked to improve airframe limitations and capabilities on the King Air 90 series. Earlier in his career he worked as a Senior Flight Test Pilot and Engineer for The New Piper Aircraft Company in Vero Beach, Florida and for Raytheon Aircraft Company in Wichita, Kansas. He has also spent 2 years with FlightSafety International as a Senior Flight Test Aeronautical Engineer.

Eckhart is a native of Oklahoma and holds a bachelor's and master's degree in Aerospace Engineering from Oklahoma State University. He has accumulated over 2,800 hours as a flight test pilot and has completed several projects as a newly appointed FAA DER flight test pilot.
