Press Release
Issued by Aero-Dienst.
May 9, 2011
The order books are full and the new hangar which was opened just three years ago is already bursting at the seams. Therefore, by end of this summer Aero- Dienst will be taking over a former airline hangar at its home base in Nuremberg to increase its capacity by a further 2,500 square metres. This will increase indoor floor area from its current 5,500 square metres by more than 40 percent to a total of 8,000 square metres.
By completing this expansion Aero-Dienst emphasizes its role for Nuremberg as an aviation centre and their good relationship with the airport authorities, thus giving a clear signal for their future continuity and quality.
To meet the increased demand for maintenance, repair and design engineering and enable it to use the hangar capacity to its fullest, Aero-Dienst's management is also planning to increase its workforce in the medium term by around 50 persons. The primary type of personnel Aero-Dienst is seeking will be trained and experienced staff such as inspectors, mechanics and avionics specialists. Additional positions will be created to supplement the Process Planning and CAMO administration sections of the customer service department. The decision taken by Aero-Dienst some time ago to provide a source of new personnel from within its own ranks by training aircraft mechanics is now also paying off. This year and the coming years will see particularly strong classes reaching the end of their apprenticeship training which means that the highly qualified Aero-Dienst team will soon be gaining additional personnel from within.
The expansion of capacity also means additional workshops and offices in addition to the increased hangar space. This will provide more space for maintenance work on Falcon (2000EX EASy, 900EX, 900EX EASy and 7X) and Challenger 300 and 600 series aircraft. At the same time there will also be scope for further expansion in terms of Learjet and Hawker aircraft. The company is also planning to offer more service for aircraft interior work (interior refurbishments) towards the end of the year since there is ever increasing demand for this from customers. With this in mind Aero-Dienst is in talks with well-known potential partners interested in opening their own business site for aircraft interiors in the new hangar on the basis of a "shop-in-shop" system.
Another major benefit for Aero-Dienst's customers is the direct access to the new Aero-Dienst hanger via the GAT which will ensure fast and easy access in this respect.
"This expansion marks a further milestone in Aero-Dienst's development and growth. The additional space means that we will be able to provide our customers with even better service in the future, enable us to structure our work more efficiently and provide a better working environment for our employees", sais Martin Bauer, Managing Director of Aero-Dienst. "As a result of the hangar size it will enable us to arrange our aircraft better and we will be able to take advantage of synergy effects. We can install new working docks and we will also have additional space for storing loaner engines. Moreover we will be able to provide our customers with an additional lounge area and additional customer offices."
