Rockwell Collins today announced that it was selected by Jet Aviation Basel to install its Venue™ High Definition (HD) Cabin Management System (CMS) on an Airbus A319 CJ with an option of two further aircrafts. This announcement, which marks the first installation of Venue™ on narrow body corporate jet platforms, was made at the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) annual meeting and convention in Atlanta, Georgia.
"We continue to expand the opportunities for business jet passengers to enjoy a Venue cabin, regardless of the size of their aircraft," said Tommy Dodson, vice president and general manager, Cabin Systems for Rockwell Collins. "The installation of Venue on a narrow body platform is made possible through the addition of new Venue capabilities specifically designed to meet the requirements of a larger cabin."
"Jet Aviations' selection of Rockwell Collins equipment is as a result of an intense selection process. The combination of technical excellence, coupled with an appealing commercial position, has established the collaboration between Jet Aviation and Rockwell Collins within the narrow body CMS segment," said Arne Guzzoni, Vice President Supply Chain Management EMEA & Asia of Jet Aviation.
Jet Aviation will be the launch customer for Rockwell Collins new Venue™ High Definition (HD) Cabin Management System (CMS) for Airbus A319.
New Venue capabilities include flight attendant call functionality, control of satellite TV, and ability to host audio and video briefings over the cabin displays.
Venue is the industry's first complete, HD cabin management system for business aircraft that includes the features and functionality of the most advanced home entertainment systems and executive suites.
