Raytheon Technologies has achieved the successful first engine run of its regional hybrid-electric DHC Dash 8-100 flight demonstrator, marking a key milestone towards flight testing, targeted to begin in 2024.

With the DOA and POA secured, H55 is well positioned to receive a type certificate for its 100kW electric propulsion system by the end of 2023.

Having worked on and flown four electric aircraft, H55 is well placed to act as a key enabler for electrified regional transport. It will work with P&WC to provide batteries for a hybrid-electric demonstrator programme.
