The DA42-VI is an excellent multi-engine training platform, popular at many leading flight schools, that burns up to half as much fuel as conventional AvGas-powered aircraft and is exceptionally silent.

The goal is to make the training of future Lufthansa Group pilots more sustainable and environmentally friendly. The results of the piston flight test series will show whether SAF can be used as the sole fuel for the EFA fleet.

The European flight academy is expanding its capacity to accommodate 300 students per year and is investing in training aircraft and flight simulators from Diamond Aircraft.
