The decision to strategically focus on introducing a new aircraft at SCAA's Aberdeen base was driven by reviewing operational data across all of Scotland over the last five years. An H145 will replace an EC135.

SCAA has just completed its 11th and busiest year ever with over 1,000 call outs, and has taken part in 6,000 rescue missions since its launch in 2013, first with its Bolkow 105 and now with Airbus H135s.

SCAA chief executive David Craig has spoken of the evolution and growth of SCAA, from the vision and commitment of those behind its creation to the vital life-saving service delivered by two EC135 air ambulances.
