Instead of focusing solely on battery technology, Cormorant Aerospace has opted for a hybrid approach that is more easily certifiable. Its first aircraft is equipped with a combination of a battery pack and a turbogenerator.

The move to Teuge exposes Cormorant SEAplanes to an e-campus where it can collaborate with a training academy that uses Pipistrel electric aircraft and wider, shared research facilities for an e-aviation ecosystem.

Cormorant Seaplanes is working on an electric amphibious STOL aircraft. MD Chris Rijff has visited the Leichtwerk facility where aircraft configuration analyses will take place.
