Melbourne Flight Training expands fleet with new Tecnam P2006T MKII and launches self-examining multi-engine programme

Melbourne Flight Training (MFT), a leading flight school based in Melbourne, Florida, is excited to announce the addition of a new Tecnam P2006T MKII aircraft to its fleet, expanding its collection to a total of eight multi-engine aircraft, five of which are Tecnam models. This acquisition supports the launch of the school's highly anticipated Platinum Multi-Engine programme, designed to provide aspiring pilots with an accelerated training programme with no wait times.

The Platinum Multi-Engine programme is a Part 141 course that includes a significant upgrade for students: FAA-approved self-examining authority for checkrides. Students enrolled in the programme can now complete their checkrides in-house, avoiding long waits for DPE (Designated Pilot Examiner) availability and reducing the time between the completion of the course and the checkride.

“We're thrilled to offer our students this accelerated multi-engine training option,” said David Cruz, chief instructor at Melbourne Flight Training. “Our mission has always been to provide top-tier flight training, and the addition of this new course will take out students to the next level in their career.”

The Tecnam P2006T is renowned for its advanced features and fuel-efficiency, making it an ideal choice for multi-engine training. With its modern design, it offers a comfortable, advanced training platform for pilots aiming to advance their skills.

Additionally, Melbourne Flight Training is proud to announce its new self-examining authority across multiple flight training programmes, including Private Pilot, Instrument and Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) courses. Students enrolled in these programmes can now take their checkrides directly with MFT's qualified instructors, without the need to wait for availability with outside DPEs.

"This expansion of our self-examining authority for our 141 commercial multi engine programme breaks through the current industry barriers affecting students who are waiting in long lines for DPE checkrides," said Derek Fallon, president. "MFT is a leader in commercial multi engine training and is committed to providing the most efficient, effective multi engine flight training possible.”

Melbourne Flight Training's new offerings are designed to meet the needs of both local and national students, supporting aspiring pilots from start to finish in their aviation careers. The flight school remains dedicated to providing top-tier flight training, focusing on safety, quality instruction and exceptional student experiences.
