Growth-oriented Premier Private Jets acquires new FBO location in Cincinnati from Wheels Up

Premier Private Jets, an integrated US provider of charter, FBO and MRO services, has added its third FBO to serve the Upper Midwest as part of a growth campaign to better serve operators with a growing FBO and MRO network. The FBO is a former Wheels Up facility at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG). CVG will also operate as an additional support hub for Premier's charter fleet of light and midsize jets.

The newly branded PremierFBO at CVG is the sole FBO facility serving local and transient operators at the airport. It has 50,000 square feet of hangar and terminal facility, including large modern lounge and office areas. The hangar is able to handle ultra-long-range jets up to a G650.

As with its new FBO at Dayton International the CVG facility has a large ramp (225,000 sf) and is able to handle airline size aircraft including 757s and similar aircraft often used for sports charters. The FBO has the type of deicing and other service equipment to handle these large aircraft.

In late 2023, Premier acquired a major MRO centre at James M Cox Dayton International Airport (DAY) in Dayton, Ohio from Stevens Aerospace and Defense Systems, now operating as PremierMRO, and in 2025 added a PremierFBO facility at the airport following its acquistion of the former Aviation Sales Inc (ASI) FBO. Just as in those transactions, Premier expects to retain CVG's talented staff. Premier's other FBO is at Oakland County International Airport (PTK) in Pontiac, Michigan outside Detroit. CVG will be a third base for dispatching AOG support.

“CVG fits with our strategic growth strategy,” said Premier CEO, Josh Birmingham. “Today we have an outstanding maintenance organisation centred in Dayton and a growing FBO presence. The Premier brand is becoming better known. On the FBO side, customers find both warmth and professionalism, and the facilities and services they need to keep their flight operations running efficiently.”

Birmingham said the company would continue to strategically acquire FBOs, likely in the Upper Midwest and Southeast as it expands a network known for consistently high levels of service. “When operators arrive, they know that their aircraft, passengers and flight crews will be well cared for,” Birmingham continued. “That is the essence of the business, and it is our commitment to them.”

“As we continue to execute our strategic vision, the sale of our CVG facility to Premier Private Jets represents a thoughtful decision that benefits both Wheels Up and our valued customers,” said Dave Holtz, chief operating officer at Wheels Up. “Our longstanding partnership with the Premier team gives us complete confidence that the facility is in the best possible hands. Wheels Up will maintain our presence at CVG by utilising PremierFBO for a full suite of services, ensuring that our crews and customers continue to receive the exceptional care and operational excellence they have come to expect from us.”
