Press Release
Issued by Elite Simulation Solutions.
August 2, 2010
When the Fly-West Flight Training Centre wanted a new flight simulator to help train pilots at its Innsbruck, Austria, base, it wanted not also quality and accurate performance but also super fast delivery – in weeks rather than months. And that’s what they got from Elite Simulation Solutions, the Swiss designer and manufacturer of world class PC-driven flight simulation devices. The Elite evolution S812 FNPT II is designed to replicate the Piper Seneca III twin-piston aircraft, and it has a 1-channel visual system. The Seneca III is one aircraft type in the mixed training fleet operated by Fly-West – they also operate Cessna C150, C152 and C182 and Rockwell Commander 114B single engine aircraft and the twin-diesel Diamond DA42 Twin Star. Fly-West is a recently set-up FTO with newly built offices where the flight simulator is housed and has a modern classroom. The company keeps up to date with the teaching materials used and most of the instructors also work as airline pilots or controllers. Elite’s Marketing & Sales Manager, René Huddlestone, said: “We have the flexibility to be able to build and deliver our systems very quickly compared with the industry norm and, apart from the accurate replication of the Elite evolution S812 FNPTII Seneca III, this greatly appealed to Fly-West as they wanted to rapidly expand their training capabilities.”
