Skyryse, the creator of SkyOS, the world's first universal operating system for flight, today announced, after seven years of hard work, the recent completion of the world's first fully automated set-down at the swipe of a finger in a fully-conforming production aircraft.
Showcasing this latest capability comes one month after it showcased Skyryse One, a Robinson R66 helicopter modified with the SkyOS operating system, executing a stable, fully automated hover with just a simple swipe of the finger.
"After we put out our last video showing us taking off with the swipe of a finger, we figured we should probably also show that we can land with the swipe of a finger too," said Dr. Mark Groden, CEO of Skyryse. "All kidding aside, automating helicopter landings are very important, and I'd urge you to read more about why in this new blog post on the Skyryse website."
Skyryse's success, after years of rigorous flight testing on multiple test platforms, demonstrates the company's progress toward its mission to make flying simpler and safer and allowing anyone to fly any aircraft.
