VistaJet responds to quadruple membership growth in Japan with enhanced presence

VistaJet, the first and only global business aviation company, is continuing its impressive growth across the Asia-Pacific region, with Japan emerging as a key market. For two decades, VistaJet has been transforming business aviation through its commitment to world-class service and bespoke travel solutions for global business leaders, government officials and private clients.

This milestone year, its 20th anniversary, sees VistaJet showcasing its flagship Global 7500 aircraft at an exclusive event at Tokyo's Haneda Airport. As the operator of the world's largest fleet of Global 7500 aircraft, VistaJet offers unparalleled standards of service and precision. Designed for maximum comfort and speed, the Global 7500 is the largest and longest-range business jet, capable of flying non-stop for up to 17 hours with exceptional ease.

VistaJet is positioning itself as a leader in Japan's growing private aviation market. Providing flexible, high-quality travel solutions to Japanese clients propelled VistaJet's growth across APAC, which in the first nine months of 2024 saw:

- Total flight hours in the region increase by 14% and in Japan by 10%

- Total flights up 20% in APAC and 25% in Japan

- Program memberships increase 15% in APAC and 400% in Japan.

Ian Moore, chief commercial officer at VistaJet, says: “Japan represents a dynamic and evolving market for private aviation, and we're proud to be leading the way with an asset-free solution that redefines business and luxury travel. The Global 7500 is a particularly popular aircraft type for the region, for its comfort and capability for point-to-point transatlantic travel, especially with big corporations. We are pleased to have the opportunity to showcase the exceptional experience we provide, combining state-of-the-art technology with unmatched service. We're excited to bring this unparalleled jet to all travellers in Japan.”

Japan has emerged as a significant player in the Asia-Pacific business aviation market, driven by its leading economy, major corporations and a growing population of ultra-high-net-worth individuals (UHNWIs). According to Knight Frank, Japan was home to 21,710 UHNWIs in 2023, highlighting its growing affluence. The Henley & Partners Centi-Millionaire Report underscores this trend, ranking Tokyo and Osaka among the world's top 15 and top 50 centi-millionaire hotspots respectively, with projected wealth growth rates exceeding 50% between 2024 to 2040.

This surge in wealth, coupled with the growing demand for efficient travel, has driven the expansion of business aviation in Japan. Business aviation provides flexibility, privacy and efficiency for both domestic and international travel.

With on-demand services and point-to-point coverage spanning 96% of the world, including access to 207 countries and territories, VistaJet ensures unparalleled connectivity. This extends its impact not only by facilitating travel within and from Japan, but also by supporting the overseas operations of Japanese corporations, which accounted for 26% of total revenue among Japanese manufacturers in 2023, according to the Japan Ministry of Industry.

VistaJet empowers Japanese executives to maximise their time to drive business growth, while contributing to the flow of capital and expertise. Japan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs is aiming to double foreign investment to JPY 80 trillion (US$531.8 billion) by 2030, and VistaJet's global aviation network plays a crucial role in achieving this goal by enhancing business connectivity and enabling seamless cross-border operations.

VistaJet's most popular flights for Japanese clients include both international and national destinations: prominent international business centres such as Hong Kong, Seoul, Singapore, Shanghai and Beijing, as well as domestic routes connecting Tokyo's Haneda with Hokkaido's New Chitose and Nagoya's Chubu Centrair. Long-haul destinations such as Los Angeles, San Francisco and Tbilisi also rank among the top 20 departure points from Japan, further showcasing the growing demand for global and local connectivity that only VistaJet can offer.

VistaJet's asset-free business model allows clients to enjoy the benefits of private aviation without the capital risk of aircraft ownership. With the VistaJet Program, members pay only for the hours they fly, avoiding hidden costs such as depreciation, maintenance and other ownership-related expenses. Moreover, the VistaJet Program offers members guaranteed access to its global fleet. This membership-based model aligns with Japan's focus on efficiency, privacy and high standards in luxury travel.

Every VistaJet flight is staffed with a dedicated cabin host and two pilots, providing optimal flight performance and inflight service. To further enhance the travel experience, VistaJet offers unique programmes tailored to a wide array of client needs, from the Wellness programme and Michelin-starred dining to VistaPet and Adventures in the Sky, designed for families travelling with young explorers. These curated experiences make VistaJet the preferred choice for clients seeking more than just a flight.

As the private aviation industry continues to expand, VistaJet is proud to be a leader in Japan and the APAC region, setting new standards for passenger service. The static display of the Global 7500 at Haneda Airport is testament to VistaJet's commitment to the Japanese market and a celebration of 20 years of industry leadership, innovation and growth.
