Oriens Advisors, the aviation consultants specialising in the entry level jet aviation sector, has relocated its business from central London offices, where it has been operating since its launch in September 2009, to premises at London Biggin Hill airport. The Oriens Advisors site consists of 2500 m? of hangar facilities, 14 further management offices and an annexe next to the hangars where Oriens themselves are now based. The move reflects the importance the company places on having accessibility to the business aviation industry, and all related parts of the value chain. The full Oriens team is based at the premises.
"London Biggin Hill is among the most popular airports in Europe for entry level jets, and turboprop movements making it a key part of the value chain for the area of business where Oriens has its primary focus, and an excellent choice for our main premises," commented Edwin Brenninkmeyer, CEO.
The hangars, which are managed by EA Aviation, a company owned by Oriens' founders Brenninkmeyer and Archie Garden, have fully equipped avionics and maintenance workshops which previously held Part 145 accreditation for maintenance. Oriens intends to sublet the hangar space to an entry level jet MRO, or avionics business in due course. "We hope to attract a major player in the field, and are already in discussions with a number of companies who have expressed interest," says Brenninkmeyer. The site will also be available for owners who require airport parking and is already home to a number of small piston aircraft.
"Biggin Hill is one of the few London airports that still has capacity, and is also set to play a key part in the 2012 Olympics. For us it was a great opportunity to base ourselves in the heart of an expanding aviation environment," continues Brenninkmeyer. "We hope to become a key part of Biggin Hill's strategic growth plans."
Robert Walters, Business Development Director of London Biggin Hill commented, "we are pleased to have Oriens Advisors join the growing number of companies based at the airport. With their vision for the development of the entry level jet market we look forward to working with them on attracting further aviation business to London Biggin Hill airport."
