JETS to relocate to new facility at Bournemouth Airport

MAG Developments, the property and development arm of the Manchester Airports Group, has agreed a new five-year lease with Jet Engineering Technical Support Limited (JETS) that will see JETS relocate from its current base at Southampton Airport to a new fly-in, fly-out facility at Bournemouth Airport.

JETS will take up occupancy of Hangar 332 and Hangar 600 North – capable of accommodating five Hawker aircraft, or two larger Challenger sized aircraft, totalling more than 35,000 square feet of space. In addition the facility will also include an extensive ramp area, in excess of 45,000 square feet, for storage of aircraft, parking, line maintenance and FBO services.

Dave Jackson, JETS CEO, said: "We have grown the business year on year and simply outgrew Southampton. Bournemouth represented the best balance of location versus cost, and coupled with the pro-aviation attitude of the airport owners, presented the growth potential that we sought and much more flexibility for our customers."

The move to the new facility – located just off Runway-26 on the Southern Sector, which is the airport's main operational base and also home to the brand new £45-million passenger terminal – will be completed prior to the Bournemouth Air Festival in mid-August, when JETS hopes to welcome new and existing customers to the facility.

Harvey Greenman, Estates Manager for MAG Developments at Bournemouth Airport, said: "JETS' decision to relocate is a real coup for Bournemouth Airport and we are delighted to welcome such a high calibre company. Buoyed by the new terminal development, we continue to see steady demand from potential occupiers owing to our ability to offer flexible lease terms and, as demonstrated by this latest agreement, accommodate a wide variety of property requirements."
