ANAC Brazil awards STC for five-blade MT-Propeller on Piper PA-46-310P/-350P

MT-Propeller Entwicklung GmbH has received STC 2023S08-11 from Brazil's Agencia Nacional de Aviacao Civil for the installation of the next generation Quiet Fan Jet five-blade scimitar composite propeller MTV-27-1-E-C-F-R(P)/CFR203-58d on the Piper PA-46-310P/-350P Jet Prop powered by PT6A-21/-34/-35 propeller turbines.

The Installation is already certified by EASA STC 10049811 and FAA STC SA03542NY.

MT-Propeller vice president Martin Albrecht says the five-blade propeller installation on the Piper PA-46-310P/-350P has the following advantages:

- General performance improvement with 10% shorter take-off distance, 10% better climb performance and three knots faster in cruise.

- Approximately 3 pounds less weight than the original four-blade metal propeller.

- Cooler ITT on ground with condition lever at low and high idle position.

- There are no propeller speed restrictions on ground while operating in low idle.

- Due to the smaller diameter the MT-Propeller for the PA-46-310P/-350P has more ground clearance for less FODs.

- The MT-Propeller natural composite blades provide significant inside and outside noise reductions for a jetlike vibration and noise signature.

- They have no life limitation and are repairable in case of a FOD.

- They also provide best vibration damping characteristics for almost vibration free propeller operation and have bonded on nickel alloy leading edges for superior erosion protection of the blades.

All models comply with the strict 2010 Landeplatz Lärmschutz Verordnung German noise regulations for unrestricted airport operations in Germany and other European countries.

MT-Propeller is the world leading natural composite propeller manufacturer with 30 propeller models from two-blade to seven-blade hydraulically controlled variable pitch propellers for engines producing up to 5,000hp, and two-blade to four-blade electrically controlled variable pitch propellers for engines producing up to 350hp as well as two blade fixed pitch propellers.

The high performance, light weight and durable MT-Propellers can be used on aircraft with piston engines and propeller turbines, as well as on airships, wind tunnels or hovercraft. MT-Propellers can be developed for nearly every aircraft type from motor gliders to regional airliners.

Fulfilling the highest certifications requirements, they are also supplemental type certified on Part 25 aircraft.

MT-Propeller is the holder of over 220 STCs worldwide and the OEM supplier for more than 90% of the European aircraft industry as well as 30% of the US aircraft industry. More than 28,000 propeller systems with over 100,000 blades are in service, and 180 million fleet hours have been performed on MT-Propellers. With the longest industry TBO of 4,500 hours or six years for the five-bladed turbo prop MT-Propeller has proven the reliability of its products over the years.

A factory certified network of 62 service centres provides best service and maintenance all over the world.
