U.S.-based Elliott Aviation this year returns to the European Business Aviation Convention & Exposition (EBACE) promoting its complete range of aircraft upgrade capabilities that help owners of European-based aircraft extend the useful life of older airframes and make the most of their investments.
Based at Quad City International Airport (MLI) in Moline, Ill., Elliott Aviation (EBACE Booth 1463) is showcasing recent projects including a fully refurbished EU-registered Beechjet 400 and the first European-registered King Air B200 aircraft to receive Garmin's G1000 Integrated Avionics Suite glass cockpit.
"Elliott Aviation has long been known for our expertise in avionics upgrades, but we also offer the most sophisticated aftermarket paint facility and employ some of the most skilled interiors craftsmen in the world," said Jeff White, Elliott Aviation vice president of sales, marketing and business development. "In recent years, we have seen increasing interest from owners of European-registered aircraft, who have taken advantage of our expertise to extend the usefulness and enhance the residual value of their aircraft."
White adds that economic conditions around the world have also made acquiring and upgrading pre-owned aircraft an attractive option for businesses seeking greater value.
"We offer our customers a complete turn-key acquisition service for quality pre-owned aircraft that is both cost-effective and efficient," according to White. "We handle everything from the initial acquisition and pre-purchase inspection to post-purchase modifications and final delivery of the aircraft in 'like-new' condition."
The Beechjet received a new custom-designed 400XP-style interior and new paint, as well as installation of a new Digital Flight Data Recorder, for which Elliott Aviation received supplemental type certification (STC) from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in January and is expected to be European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) certified later this year. The complete aircraft refurbishment included a seat reconfiguration that moved the lavatory to the aft section of the aircraft, as well as design, fabrication and installation of custom drink rails, tables and galley, pleated window shades, LED lighting, and new seat upholstery, headliners and carpet. The aircraft also received a full strip and paint job in Elliott's state-of-the-art, downdraft paint facility.
Elliott Aviation's installation of Garmin's G1000 in a Norwegian-based King Air B200 will be the first EU-registered King Air featuring the G1000 retrofit, pending Garmin's receipt of EASA certification. Elliott has performed more G1000 retrofits in King Air aircraft than any other company, and was the first authorized facility to install the G1000 in a King Air B200. The company also offers Blackhawk high performance engines and numerous Raisbeck performance enhancing modifications for King Airs, creating aircraft that look and perform better than new.
Elliott Aviation currently holds 14 supplemental type certificates from EASA, including avionics upgrades for Beechjet, King Air and Falcon aircraft.
