Versitec 2000 Ltd the aviation technology company behind Skynet Online Handling requests, their innovative web-hosted trip quote and management solution, have today announced a landmark collaboration agreement with CrimsonSky Consultancy Ltd a well known aviation procurement and supply chain management business to extend its fuel service Jet-a-One.com to the GA sector utilising the Skynet platform.
CrimsonSky has significant experience in the fuel procurement and fuel derivatives market. What makes this service unique is that it brings together the fuel volumes of club participants to give each member buying power that it cannot achieve on its own. For the first time FBO's, operators, smaller airlines, regional airports and flight support businesses will be able to compete on more preferential terms via the support of a collective buying scheme, and benefit from more dynamic pricing with other improved commercial benefits.
Kevin Stovey, Managing Director, CrimsonSky said, "… we have been exploring for some time how to take our fuel buying service Jet-a-One.com to the GA sector, but the challenge has been how to offer dynamic pricing direct to the desktop. After reviewing the market we identified that the Skynet platform was clearly superior and had been designed to really address the needs of FBO's and Operators".
Tim Gill, Managing Director, Versitec commented "…we were hugely impressed not only behind the concept of Jet-a-One, but also of what Crimson Sky had already achieved in terms of bringing together the various elements to make the scheme work. Throughout the development of Skynet we have always had a policy to create strategic alliances and partnerships with complimentary and non-competitive products and services and the Jet-a-One scheme is a perfect fit for us"
The fuel buying service is only part of the total suite of services to be offered to the GA market. The plan is to introduce a jet fuel card and multi leg fuel profiling system as well. Beyond fuel the Skynet platform could be used as a procurement portal for areas of centralized purchasing such as aircraft parts, maintenance, and concierge services.
Licensed Skynet users will be able to benefit from the new fuel program and concessionary Jet-A-One procurement processes in a variety of ways including a tiered and market linked pricing index.
