Elie Zelouf, Jet Aviation Basel, receives 2010 European Business Aviation Award

Elie Zelouf, Jet Aviation Basel, has been honored for his dedication and commitment to business aviation. At this year's EBACE convention in Geneva, Zelouf received the 2010 European Business Aviation Award in recognition for his outstanding contributions during his 43 years of dedicated service to Jet Aviation, and to the growth of Business Aviation in Europe.

Rodolfo Baviera, chairman of the European Business Aviation Awards (EBAA), presented Elie Zelouf with this year's award on the opening day of the EBACE Convention in Geneva, Switzerland. The award, which has been conferred since the inception of EBACE in 2001, recognizes individuals who have made a lasting contribution to the business aviation industry.

In presenting the award, Baviera described Zelouf to the audience as "a man of action, who knows firsthand what clients expect. He always believed in the future of business aviation, even in difficult times." In his speech, Baviera further acknowledged Zelouf's commitment to aviation, which has spanned over four decades, stating, "This award honors Elie Zelouf's relentless drive, unwavering support and dedication to the business aviation community."

Elie Zelouf has left an indelible on Jet Aviation. Over the forty years he has been with the firm, Zelouf has helped to shape the company and substantially contribute to its success from its very first days onward with utmost commitment and dedication. Zelouf became a part of Jet Aviation during the pioneering days, when founder Carl W. Hirschmann acquired Globe Air in Basel in 1967. At this time, Zelouf held the position of deputy technical director. In 1976, Carl W. Hirschmann appointed him general manager of Jet Aviation Basel. Zelouf remained in that position until 1999; when he decided to step down to take on a new role in key customer support in Basel. In 2001, he was asked to help establish the newly acquired Jet Aviation maintenance and FBO operation in London Biggin Hill, where he successfully integrated the company into Jet Aviation's global network. He returned to Jet Aviation Basel in 2004 and has since been in charge of key customers. In 2009, at the age of 75, Zelouf decided to retire, but continues to assist Jet Aviation in Basel in an advisory role two days a week.
