Press Release
Issued by Goldair Handling.
May 10, 2010
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) awarded Goldair Handling the IATA Safety Audit for Ground Operations certification (ISAGO).
Goldair Handling is the first Greek ground handling provider that obtained the ISAGO certification.
ISAGO audits were conducted by an auditor from an IATA-accredited Audit Organization at the headquarters of Goldair Handling in December 09 and by auditors from an ISAGO Audit Pool Member Airline in the Athens station in January 10.
Audits covered the headquarters' organizational and management systems as well as the station's management system, passenger and baggage handling, Load Control, Aircraft handling and Loading, Aircraft Ground Movement, Cargo & Mail handling.
ISAGO examines the complete spectrum of a ground handling company and assesses continuity of operational management and practices between headquarters and stations.
ISAGO creates an environment for safer operations and reduces the number of audits from the customer airlines, allowing the ground service providers to focus their resources on operations.
A group of IATA member airlines have formed a pool of committed auditors to carry out ISAGO audits, in order to allow pool members to share audit reports. This will avoid the need for conducting their own audits at all of their stations, thereby saving valuable time and efforts.
