DC Aviation expands its fleet with three new vvip Airbus A319 CJs

At the EBACE trade show in Geneva, DC Aviation, Germany's leading operator of business jets, is displaying one of its three new VVIP Airbus aircraft, which will be added to the fleet this year. The three VVIP Airbus A319 CJ's belong to owners who have enlisted their aircraft in DC Aviation's aircraft management programme. All three exclusive, wide-body aircraft are available with 19 seats for charter clients. Two of the VVIP jets are already in service, and the third will be delivered at the end of May. The German market leader will then have a total of four Airbus Corporate Jets in the charter segment, making it one of the largest operators of this aircraft type in the world. Steffen Fries, CEO of DC Aviation: „We are very proud to have three new VVIP Airbus aircraft in our fleet, as this enables us to meet all of our customers needs, whether it be a short-haul jet or an exclusive Airbus. Starting now, we can also offer larger groups comfortable travel alternatives to destinations such as Beijing, South Africa or New York." With the three Airbus aircraft, DC Aviation is significantly expanding its existing long-haul fleet consisting of Challenger 604's, Legacy 600's, Global Expresses, Gulfstreams 550's and the company-owned, 48-seat VIP Airbus. In the Middle East along with Europe, there is demand for charter flights with these exclusive VVIP aircraft. „We are receiving requests for charter flights with the VVIP Airbus aircraft from large corporations, as well as private individuals. The jets offer a level of comfort on long-haul flights that is simply unbeatable," Fries continues.

DC Aviation playing a leading role during design and delivery of VVIP Airbus aircraft

DC Aviation served as lead advisor and supervisor in the remodeling and delivery of each of the three Airbus aircraft. The services provided by the company ranged from defining the specifications to technical inspections during manufacture as well as final delivery and acceptance from Airbus. DC Aviation then also supervised the interior completion of the aircraft. Steffen Fries: „Even before manufacture of the aircraft begins, we are already in close contact with our customers to ensure their design ideas and wishes become a reality. Each of our VIP jets is a unique solution and tailor-made for the respective customer. Due to our turn key services, our customers can have complete confidence that all important and relevant aspects of delivery are properly executed right through to the registration of the aircraft." The aircraft are registered in Germany and will be globally operated in part from Dubai starting by the end of the year, when the joint venture there will be launched.

Tailor-made Interior Design

Thierry Boutsen, owner and president of Boutsen Aviation, brought two of the A319 CJ's to DC Aviation. The Monegasque company representing the owners, oversaw negotiations with Airbus, advised on the design of the interiors, and together with DC Aviation supervised the interior completions at Jet Aviation, Basel. Thierry Boutsen: "We are very pleased about our cooperation with DC Aviation, they are totally focused on quality in everything they do. And with their extensive experience with the Airbus ACJ in both maintenance and operations they really were by far the best choice." The interior design and completions were carried out by the Swiss experts at Jet Aviation in Basel. The interior designs of all three Airbus' are custom incorporating lounges, bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, as well as bars and crew quarters. Two of the jets have premium business-class seating in the rear of the jet. In addition, individual seats and divans can be converted into extra beds on night flights. The aircraft are outfitted with the latest entertainment and communications systems, allowing passengers to enjoy, for example, WLAN Internet and e-mail access anywhere on board, as well as entertainment options such as CD, DVD and video. Satellite telephones, printer and fax terminals round out the aircraft's communications capabilities. Thanks to individually operable LED lighting, the interior cabin maintains a pleasant atmosphere throughout. The third jet was outfitted by the Airbus Corporate Jet Centre in Toulouse.
