DC Aviation with ten per cent more flights in Q1 2010

DC Aviation, Germany's leading operator of business jets, has recorded a solid first quarter: the number of flights increased in the first three months by ten per cent compared to the same time period the previous year. Steffen Fries, CEO of DC Aviation: "Since the summer of last year, we have seen our customers increase the utilisation of our business jets. The first quarter is traditionally weak in our sector, which is why we are even more pleased with developments since the beginning of the year. We anticipate that demand will continue to rise even more, and we aim to accumulate almost as many flight hours this year as in 2008." DC Aviation recorded over 12,000 hours in the sky in 2008, while the number decreased by roughly 20 per cent to just over 9,500 in the difficult year of 2009. The charter business suffered due to the global economic crisis in particular on short-haul routes. In contrast, the aircraft management and maintenance divisions, which account for two-thirds of DC Aviation's turnover, remained almost completely stable. "On the whole, our company made it successfully through the last year. Now our focus is on continuing to offensively market our varied services of charter, aircraft management and maintenance," continues Fries.

Business travellers benefit from pan-European positioning of short-haul jets

Starting now, DC Aviation will strategically position its Learjet fleet at top-tier airports where demand for business jets is especially high, such as Rome, Zurich, Munich and Madrid. With the seven Learjets at these airports, there is now no need for long positioning flights, so DC Aviation is able to offer business travellers popular city-pairs on very short notice. This will also mean better prices for customers. „We want our jets to be where our clients are. Our fleet is big enough that we can be flexible with where we position our aircraft. This ad hoc availability in major business cities is particularly attractive for executive travellers," explains Steffen Fries. The German market leader's Learjet fleet consists of four Learjet 40's, one Learjet 40 XR and one 45 XR, as well as a Learjet 60. With ranges between 3,300 and 4,400 kilometres, all destinations in Europe are accessible.

German market leader offers connecting flights with two helicopters

DC Aviation has had two helicopters in its business jet fleet since the second quarter of the year. „Both helicopters are an ideal complement to our charter offer. For example, our clients who arrive by jet in Nice can easily transfer to a helicopter that will take them to their final destination. They can save time and arrive refreshed by avoiding the heavy street traffic on the coastal roads," according to Fries. Additionally, helicopters are ideal for certain cargo, transport as well as flights to hard to reach areas. Both helicopters can transport up to four passengers.
