Jet Aviation Basel outfits and delivers brand new Airbus A319 CJ

Jet Aviation Basel has outfitted and delivered a brand new Airbus A319 CJ to Boutsen Aviation. The Monaco-based company brought the completion project to the Basel completions center on behalf of an undisclosed client. The aircraft will be managed by Germany-based operator DC Aviation.

The completions project on the A319 CJ at Basel was a cooperative effort between Jet Aviation, Boutsen Aviation and DC Aviation. Boutsen Aviation, representing the owner, oversaw negotiations with Airbus and worked with the Basel design department on the design of the interior, and, together with DC Aviation, supervised the completions at Jet Aviation Basel. The aircraft was delivered just in time for EBACE, where DC Aviation presented the brand new A319 CJ on display.

Jet Aviation Basel's in-house design department, in cooperation with Boutsen Aviation, created a quiet design of understated elegance for the client, fulfilling two primary requirements: to operate not only as a privately-operated aircraft with an open plan living area as well as a bedroom and shower, but also to be used in commercial operation, with the addition of customized high-density seating in the area. Throughout the aircraft, natural patterns and materials were utilized to create a restful environment.

The layout includes a generous entrance hallway and a main cabin with a spacious executive seating area, combining lounge and dining areas. The cabin is configured during daytime for up to 14 passengers. For maximum flexibility, the seats and divans, combined with high-low tables, convert into five comfortable beds on night flights. The aft section provides 19 premium business class seats for commercial use.

The aircraft is additionally equipped with the latest entertainment and communications systems, allowing passengers to enjoy, for example, WLAN Internet and e-mail access anywhere on board, as well as entertainment options such as CD, DVD and video. Satellite phones, print and fax terminals are also part of the aircraft's communications capabilities.

Charles Celli, senior vice president completions and general manager of Jet Aviation Basel, said: "Our inhouse designer, engineering and production teams worked hard to create a space that transitions well from a private setting to a business aircraft."
