EASA issues STC for Cessna 414 RAM series with four-blade MTV-14 MT-Propeller

MT-Propeller Entwicklung GmbH rhas eceived EASA STC 10079705 for the four-blade natural composite MTV-14-D-C-F/CF188-30g propeller on the Cessna 414 RAM IV, VI and VII series powered by TCM TSIO-520-J,-JB,-N,-NB engines plus engines modified by RAM. This EASA STC replaces the German LBA STC SA1318.

The FAA STC update is in progress.

MT-Propeller vice president Martin Albrecht says, that the installation has the following advantages:

- Bonded on stainless steel or nickel leading edges for best erosion protection of the blades

- Shorter take-off distance by approximately -3% (SL, ISA conditions)

- Enhanced climb by approximately 5% to 8% (SL, ISA conditions)

- Cruise performance increased by approximately three to five kts (MTOW, ISA conditions)

- Approximately 20 lbs less weight than the original propellers

- MT-Propeller modification also includes Cessna 414s modified with RAM III and IV FAA STC SA4379SW; RAM VI FAA STC SA8424S-D and RAM VII FAA STC SA09469SC-D

The long time proven MT-Propeller natural composite blades provide significant inside and outside noise reduction. They have no life limitation and are repairable in case of an FOD. They also provide best vibration damping characteristics for almost vibration free propeller operation.

MT-Propeller is the world leading natural composite propeller manufacturer with 30 propeller models from two-blade to seven-blade hydraulically controlled variable pitch propellers for engines producing up to 5,000hp, and two-blade to four-blade electrically controlled variable pitch propellers for engines producing up to 350hp as well as two blade fixed pitch propellers.

The high performance, light weight and durable MT-Propellers can be used on aircraft with piston engines and propeller turbines, as well as on airships, wind tunnels or hovercraft. MT-Propellers can be developed for nearly every aircraft type from motor gliders to regional airliners.

Fulfilling the highest certifications requirements, they are also supplemental type certified on Part 25 aircraft.
