Issued by AEM.
July 1, 2007
AEM's Aviation Windings Business Unit based at Luton Airport, a subsidiary of Umeco plc, has achieved approval to EASA Part 21 Subpart J. It is one of the very first rewind companies in Europe to have gained this prestigious approval.
The EASA Part 21J approval enables AEM to reverse-engineer electrical rewound components and produce new and improved repair schemes for these parts. AEM is also able to approve changes to (alternative) parts and materials within its scope of approval.
"This is a tremendous achievement for the company. Our new fully equipped Design Office and staff of Design Development Engineers further enhance the excellent service we give to our customers. Customers will now receive significant savings in time and money when compared to the costs associated with the purchase of new components," said Alan Harding, Operations Director.
