Christof Späth new managing director of RUAG Aerospace Services

RUAG Aerospace AG has appointed the Head of its Business Unit "Aircraft Services", Christof Späth, to also act as Managing Director of RUAG Aerospace Services GmbH at the German Oberpfaffenhofen site. The 43-year-old Späth succeeds Horst Steinberg (63) who resigned his office in the middle of this year. On the request of RUAG Aerospace AG Horst Steinberg will also in future be at the company's disposal, in an advisory capacity.

The graduated mechanical engineer and business administrator started his professional career in 1992 at BMW Rolls-Royce AeroEngines, where he held various posts in the Technical, Project Management and Finance fields. In 1998 he joined GE Aircraft Engines, where he headed the "Sales and Market Development, Central Europe" area with responsibility for both civil and military businesses. In 2002 he became Director "Strategy, Sales and Program Management" of the PFW GmbH in Speyer. Since mid-2006 Christof Späth has been a member of the Executive Board of RUAG Aerospace in Emmen (Switzerland).

In his additional capacity as Managing Director, Christof Späth will further drive the integration of the "Aircraft Services" Business Unit of RUAG Aerospace AG, continue the corporate strategy jointly developed with his predecessor Horst Steinberg, and establish the Oberpfaffenhofen site as platform and headquarter of the Aircraft Services Network (ASN).

Under the leadership of Christof Späth, the Executive Board of RUAG Aerospace is convinced that the Oberpfaffenhofen site will continue its successful track and additional impulses will be given to the implementation of its in-house initiative "One Aerospace".
