Airport Safety Week is commencing at London Biggin Hill Airport today. Open to all airport resident businesses, it aims to give everyone the opportunity to get involved and develop their knowledge of health and safety.
The week-long event is designed to cover numerous aspects of health and safety both at home and in the workplace. Each day includes activities, seminars and presentations and will focus on a different area, including fire precaution, first aid, road awareness, airside safety, mental health and well-being.
The airport has teamed up with local authorities and a number of organisations who will participate in the week, including London Borough of Bromley, London Fire Brigade, Highways England, British Heart Foundation and mental health charity, Mind.
Ben Spiers, head of safety and compliance at London Biggin Hill Airport, says: "Airport Safety Week is a great opportunity to promote safe work practices and initiatives across the airport. It is fantastic to have so many partners on board who are prepared to assist in such an important matter."
