ICS-200 from International Communications Group now EASA certified

The ICS-200 Iridium Communications System from International Communications Group (ICG) has received a Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for all installations onboard the Learjet 60.

Available through Aero-Dienst GmbH & CO., a European distributor of ICG products, the STC received certification from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), the European Union's civil aviation regulatory body.

"Our communications systems offer users clear, reliable and secure voice and data communications between the aircraft and the ground anywhere on the planet over the Iridium network," said Armin Jabs, president of ICG. "Achieving EASA airworthiness certification is an important milestone in ICG's quest to continue to increase international acceptance of its systems and confirms that the ICS-200 is meeting or exceeding expectations in terms of performance and environmental friendliness."

The ICS-200 incorporates dual Iridium transceivers with an internal CTU and permits connections of conventional telephony devices or legacy CTU systems through either standard 2-Wire "Tip and Ring" circuits or 4-Wire audio connections. CTU features include intercom calling, call transfer, conferencing and follow-on dialing. The device is simple to operate offering standard dialing conventions and PABX operations with familiar call progress tones.
