FreeFlight Systems, a NextGen aviation leader specialising in avionics design, development, and manufacturing, today announced the appointment of Shane LaPlante as the newest member of its executive management team. In his new role as the vice president of sales and marketing, Mr. LaPlante will lead the next stage of growth and development for the organisation while being responsible for business development, sales strategy implementation and sustainment across the rapidly growing organisation.

LaPlante is a growth-oriented leader who focuses on providing customer solutions through product and services innovation and has in-depth technical knowledge as well as skills in developing growth-oriented strategies, aftermarket sales and logistics, and much more.

“Not only is Mr. LaPlante an established aviation professional but his experience of with our product portfolio is what caught our attention,” says Anthony Rios, president, FreeFlight Systems. “We look forward to his strong technical background along with his business acumen to propel FreeFlight Systems forward into the next phase of its growth.”

Mr. LaPlante's has spent over 30 years in aviation working at industry shaping organisations like Lockheed Martin, McDonnell Douglas, Honeywell and L3 Harris Technologies. In his role prior to joining FreeFlight Systems as the vice president aftermarket sales and marketing for L3 Harris Technologies, Mr. LaPlante managed the sector aftermarket sales organisation and integration of the sales and marketing team of a company acquisition to provide Flight Data Management (FDM) solutions.

LaPlante holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Colorado State University and a Master's in Business Administration degree from the University of Phoenix.
