Grob Aerospace Inc., the company's American subsidiary, is making its EAA AirVenture Show debut in Oshkosh, Wisconsin during July 23-29, 2007. There, it will unveil a brand new cabin mockup of the spn featuring a luxurious and high quality interior and cockpit designed by Porsche Design Studio, to the US market. (Booth No. 301 / 302).
European manufacturer Grob Aerospace will be highlighting the superior core factors of this versatile, all-composite aircraft which are perfectly suited for owner pilots who currently account for over half the growing order book. Its presence at Oshkosh follows a successful participation at Europe's premier business aviation show, EBACE in Geneva, Switzerland in May, where Grob announced numerous new orders.
The spn jet has outstanding performance qualities offering best-in-class field performance with access to unpaved and short runways, an impressive 1,800 nm range (NBAA IFR) with six passengers and one crew, single pilot operation and a spacious and comfortable cabin. The aircraft is ideally suited to the American market, providing half-way-across-the-country capability and access to the numerous local and private airfields nationwide. The spn, dubbed "the luxury SUV of the skies," is attracting the attention of customers currently flying turboprops owing to its unique ability to replicate the versatility of a turboprop with the comfort, speed, and range of a business jet.
The spn is also the first business jet to fly with the enhanced Honeywell Primus Apex integrated avionics suite, bringing technology and features found on today's $40-million-plus long-range aircraft to the single-pilot light jet. The all-glass cockpit of the spn has been ergonomically designed to maximize productivity and reduce workload. Primus Apex offers the spn a high degree of integration, full system synopsis and many standard features that are normally optional on other aircraft such as, for example, two15" PFDs and two 10" MFDs, dual FMS/GPS, EGPWS Class A and TCAS II with Change 7.
Portsmouth, NH-based Grob Aerospace Inc. is due to be fully operational this autumn to provide a complete, world-class ownership experience to North American customers. In-service support, sales, marketing, aircraft demonstration, and eventually, completion design specification, will be provided locally to North American customers.
Grob Aerospace has now secured in excess of over 60 firm orders with significant non-refundable deposits, representing the equivalent of two years' production, from customers in North America, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
The spn is on track for EASA and FAA certification in the second quarter of 2008, with deliveries commencing shortly thereafter.
