Due to high demand for corporate leasing space, Houston Executive Airport (KTME) has completed construction of a second corporate FBO hangar.
Completion of the 23,400 square-foot-hangar follows construction of a 26,000 square-foot-hangar which opened in 2009. HEA opened 20 T-Hangars in 2007 which are all currently leased. This brings total leased space to over 71,000 square feet.
Andrew D. Perry, A.A.E., said the combination of the airport's location and well-planned amenities were key factors in the airport's expansion.
"Since we opened in 2007, Houston Executive Airport has established itself as the leader in general aviation facilities in Houston," said Perry. "This expansion is directly linked to the tremendous growth and interest from the aviation community that has come to know Houston Executive Airport as the premier facility offering an unmatched business aviation experience," he said.
"The airport's location along Houston's energy corridor with direct access to Interstate 10 makes it a very viable option for pilots and travelers seeking convenience and unmatched service," Perry added.
Located near Houston's energy corridor, Houston Executive Airport is a private commercial development established by Ron Henriksen, a Houston businessman and pilot with over 40 years in the aviation industry. The airport caters to business and general aviation aircraft. With an eye for coming growth, Henriksen has long-range plans for the airport's runway to be extended from 6,610 feet to 7,604 feet to accommodate larger jet aircraft.
The airport boasts first-class amenities including 24-hour aircraft fueling, ground handling operations, rental and crew cars, crew lounge, catering services and complimentary wireless internet access. Chevron Global Aviation is the airport's fuel supplier.
Airport owner and developer Ron Henriksen is single-handedly changing the face of aviation in Texas. In addition to building Houston Executive Airport, the Houston businessman and entrepreneur is currently developing Austin Executive Airport which will open later this year.
"The fact that we are expanding our Houston operations is a wonderful testament to the real need for a general aviation facility on the west side of Houston, while providing an alternative to the city's overcrowded airports," Henriksen said. "It's tremendously gratifying to know that we are offering a much-needed service and making such a tremendous impact on Houston's economy."
Corporate client Don McGill, owner of Don McGill Toyota is among the airport's satisfied customers.
"I highly recommend Houston Executive Airport because of the unparalleled service, the friendly atmosphere and the professionalism of the team Ron Henriksen has put together at this first class facility," said McGill.
