Press Release
Issued by Airways Aviation ESMA.
January 29, 2010
On 25th and 26th January 2010, in Montpellier, the ESMA Aviation Academy had the privilege of hosting a visit from the top management of the Civil Aviation Flight University of China (CAFUC), led by the Vice President Mr Guan Lixin.
This visit follows the signing in 2009 of a 5 year cooperation agreement between Mr Zheng Xiaoyong, CAFUC President and Mr Jean Durand, ESMA Aviation Academy, and in the presence of Mr Li Hai, President of the China Aviation Supplies Holding Company (CASC); at an official ceremony held in Guanchen (Sichuan Province, China). This agreement is a joint venture enabling the training of Chinese pilot cadets under European regulation, and strengthens our position in the highly competitive Chinese market.
The agreement between the two aeronautics schools focuses on the training of CAFUC students by ESMA for the following careers:
- Airline Pilots
- Flight Attendants
- Maintenance Technicians
CAFUC, the greatest aeronautics training institution in the world, selected ESMA as a partner in Europe because of the quality of its training, its modern educational tools and for the multidisciplinary nature of its activities in the training and consulting areas.
This partnership with CAFUC also strengthens the bond between Montpellier and Chengdu, twinned cities for the last 25 years.
There will be additional investment in 2010 in the ESMA Aviation Academy with the acquisition of new aircraft and the recruitment of qualified flight and ground instructors.
This collaboration follows ESMA's agreement with China United Airlines, signed in November 2009, whose first cadets arrived at the ESMA Aviation Academy on January 11th 2010 to begin the 14 month training.
The first CAFUC cadets are expected in Montpellier in March 2010.
