NBT Bank has recently introduced small aircraft financing to its lineup of lending products and hired vice president and senior commercial banking relationship manager Doug Place to lead this effort.

Place has nearly 15 years of experience in the financial services industry. Also a private pilot, and he joined NBT from Eastern Bank where he was responsible for launching and managing its aircraft financing programme. Place is based at NBT's office in Manchester, New Hampshire.

NBT is offering loans for single and twin-engine planes flown by their owners through a collaboration with AirFleet Capital, the long-standing industry leader.

“We are thrilled to have Doug Place on our team,” said NBT Bank New Hampshire regional president Stephen Lubelczyk. “His experience as a banker and as a pilot give him a unique perspective that is beneficial to our current and future customers. The addition of this new type of lending for NBT is an exciting enhancement to the business financing options we offer.”

A resident of Goffstown, NH, Place earned his bachelor's degree in Financial Management from the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth and his master's degree in International Business from Southern New Hampshire University. He serves on the board of directors for the Greater Lawrence, MA Airport Authority and is a member of the Concord Young Professional Network. In his free time, Place is an NCAA Division I ice hockey official.
