Press Release
Issued by Middle East Aerospace Consortium MEAC.
January 22, 2010
Due to its rapid growth, the Middle East Aerospace Consortium ("MEAC") www.MiddleEastAerospace.com has today opened a new office in Switzerland, close to Geneva. The new address is:
Middle East Aerospace Consortium
Chemin du Daillard 23
CH-1071
Chexbres
Switzerland
MEAC is a membership association of Middle East and International organisations and companies. Joining this dynamic inter-business forum is highly beneficial for all companies working in the numerous aerospace sectors throughout the Middle East region.
This global forum encourages members from diverse sectors of the aerospace industry worldwide to engage with each other as well as providing access to the latest products and services. MEAC members offer products, services, training and expertise to companies wishing to do business in the rapidly growing Middle East aerospace market.
Mr Arno Roy will run the Geneva office. Arno is the former CFO of Unisys in Switzerland and has a wealth of experience providing corporate finance and strategic advisory services to European businesses. Previously Mr. Roy was Director of Finance for a Pfizer Company and Director of Corporate Strategy, Europe, for Unisys, and he now sits on the boards of five international and Swiss companies.
Mr Roy commented: "I have great pleasure in joining the MEAC team at a time when the development of the organization is accelerating rapidly. MEAC has a global reach and Switzerland is right in the very heart of Europe. Geneva is a popular destination for visitors from the Middle East and it is completely logical for us to extend our network of offices in this way. I look forward to helping build the business in continental Europe and I am confident that these new offices will help accelerate our growth."
John Ellis, CEO of MEAC added: "The MEAC brings together organisations with an interest in the aerospace industry and is fast becoming a leading global aerospace consortium. We have chosen to open offices in Switzerland due to the rapid growth in the Swiss aerospace sector. Switzerland has recently signed a global free sky deal, which promises a liberalised future for the industry, and we expect to see a significant increase in the Swiss aerospace sector, building on the fact that it already generates around six percent of the country's GDP.
"Due to the fact that the secretariat for the World Trade Organisation is based in nearby Geneva, Chexbres is an ideal location for a global consortium such as the MEAC. Being so central to world and EU trade negotiations will of course be of huge benefit to our members."
