Aviation Personnel International expands team, announces promotions

Sheryl Barden, president and CEO of Aviation Personnel International (API), today announced the promotions of Jennifer Pickerel to director, client and candidate services, and Jenny Showalter to client services manager. Barden also expanded the team with the addition of Debbi Laux as candidate services manager.

“As recruitment and HR specialists, we live by the principle of recognising and rewarding talent, hard work and dedication internally in our organisation,” said Barden, of the promotions. “All three team members have earned their new roles and greater responsibility; the decision to promote them was a very easy one.”

Jennifer Pickerel's expanded role at API follows upon her successful track record of delivering exceptional talent identification and placement services to API's clients. Over the recent past, she has also assumed responsibility and oversight of the company's candidate services division. Her new title, director, client and candidate services, recognises her solid leadership and management of both essential functions at API.

Formerly API's candidate services manager, Jenny Showalter is transitioning her focus to client service delivery, where she will assist Pickerel and Barden with project managemen; everything from the intake of a new search project to candidate identification and selection to the offer and placement of a hired candidate within a Part 91 or 135 flight department. Demonstrating her readiness for the role, Showalter assisted in the successful placement of several candidates in the past year.

In January 2018, Laux joined API in a part-time capacity as candidate specialist. As of this July, she is now in the expanded, full-time role of candidate services manager. As such, she is responsible for communicating with existing API Registered Professionals, overseeing the intake of candidate applications and maintaining the firm's proprietary candidate database. Laux also assists in the identification of qualified talent for current client projects.

Founded more than 45 years ago, Aviation Personnel International (API) is the longest-running, woman-owned business aviation recruitment firm, exclusively serving the hiring needs of flight departments in corporate and private aviation. API offers its clients the broadest portfolio of fully vetted candidates, including senior aviation leaders, pilots, maintenance, cabin safety crew, schedulers and dispatchers. Headquartered in San Francisco, the API team combines their extensive aviation knowledge with their expertise in human resources and executive aviation recruitment to provide retained talent identification, staff development and outplacement services for flight departments with one or more aircraft.
