GDC Technics, an industry leader in aircraft modifications, MRO services, technical services and electronic systems, has announced the approval of a supplemental type certificate (STC) for a Media Server and three Cabin Wireless Access Points (CWAPS).
After the installation and successful flight tests, GDC Technics received an approved STC Thursday that covers the certified installation of GDC Technics Media Servers and CWAPS on the aircraft, which is the basis of its new wireless in-flight entertainment connectivity (IFEC) system.
“This STC is a great success and accomplishment for all of GDC Technics,” said Brad Foreman, GDC Technics CEO. “At GDC Technics, we are always pushing the boundaries of technology, and with this certification, GDC continues to prove its competency and proficiency in its new business model consisting of stand-alone services that includes modifications, MRO services, technical services and electronic systems.“
The aircraft will be used as a demonstration platform to test a GDC Technics modification concept and explore high-end technological systems that will demonstrate ultra-broadband connectivity to aircraft and wireless IFE systems. GDC Technics will continue to equip the aircraft with the most sophisticated capabilities, including high-end security and management features as well as a complete connectivity suite.
