Wayman Aviation Academy earns ACCET accreditation

Wayman Aviation Academy has earned accreditation from the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training (ACCET), certifying that Wayman Aviation Academy is following the best practices of the US Department of Education.

Wayman Eddy Luy, vice president, said, “We're excited. The team has built a great school and to have it verified by such an esteemed organisation is a huge compliment to our students, staff and alumni around the world.”

The academy has operated for over 32 years and is the largest professional flight school in south Florida. It began the process of seeking accreditation in 2017. The methodology focuses on student's rights and protections, including particular scrutiny of the school's cancellation policy and a meticulous review of its refund calculations. The accreditation requires a complete, public catalogue listing all staff, courses offered and school policies.

As part of the certification, management and instructors received continuing education in admissions, teaching methodology and more. ACCET auditors reviewed the academy's finances to assess and ensure the safety of students' funds. Accreditation will open the gates to greater financial aid, simpler student visas and expanded academic certification.

ACCET has been officially recognised by the U.S. Department of Education since 1978. As such, the agency is listed as “a reliable authority as to the quality of education or training provided by institutions of higher education and the programmes they accredit.” They have received back-to-back five-year grants of recognition, the longest period provided to an accrediting agency.

Wayman Aviation Academy is based in Pembroke Pines, Florida and operates a fleet of more than 40 aircraft. It specialises in ab initio flight training for international and local students. From their first hour of flight through Commercial Pilot and Certified Flight Instructor ratings, Wayman prepares students careers in the airlines.

Wayman Aviation Academy partners with Miami Dade College, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Liberty University and the Greater Miami Aviation Association as well as six US and international airlines.
