Press Release
Issued by MT-Propeller .
June 6, 2019
MT-Propeller Entwicklung GmbH has received the EASA STC 10070090 for the Quiet Fan Jet composite propeller MTV-27-1-()-C-F-R(P)/CFR260-65k on the Beech 1900, 1900C and 1900D powered by two Pratt & Whitney PT6A-65B or -67D propeller turbines.
The FAA STC is in progress.
MT-Propeller vice president Martin Albrecht says that the installation features the following advantages compared to the original four-blade propellers:
- The five-blade MT-Propeller has a smaller diameter of about eight inches compared to the original four-blade propeller, which means more ground clearance of about four inches for less FOD and also more clearance to the fuselage, meaning less cabin noise from the prop tips
- Take-off of the Beech 1900 is improved by 4%, so compared to the original AFM a higher safety for the calculated take-off run
- The MTV-27 has no propeller ADs
- The five-blade MT-Propeller reduces the propeller noise by up to five dB(A)
- The MTV-27 has bonded on wide chord nickel alloy leading edges for superior erosion protection of the blades
- TBO for the MT-Propeller is 4,000 hours or six years, whichever comes first, for low maintenance costs
- No intermediate inspections are needed between the TBO which requires the propeller removal
- Reduced costs for spare parts, like blades and lower overhaul costs, for the complete propeller assembly
- No rpm restriction for the complete operational range
The long time proven MT-Propeller natural composite blades provide significant inside and outside noise reduction. They have no life limitation and are repairable in case of an FOD. They also provide best vibration damping characteristics for almost vibration free propeller operation.
MT-Propeller is the world leading natural composite propeller manufacturer with 30 propeller models from two-blade to seven-blade hydraulically controlled variable pitch propellers for engines producing up to 5000hp, and two-blade to four-blade electrically controlled variable pitch propellers for engines producing up to 350hp as well as two blade fixed pitch propellers.
The high performance, light weight and durable MT-Propellers can be used on aircraft with piston engines and propeller turbines, as well as on airships, wind tunnels or hovercraft. MT-Propellers can be developed for nearly every aircraft type from motor gliders to regional airliners.
Fulfilling the highest certifications requirements they are also supplemental type certified on Part 25 aircraft.
MT-Propeller is the holder of over 210 STCs worldwide and the OEM supplier for more than 90% of the European aircraft industry as well as 30% of the US aircraft industry. 23,000 propeller systems with more than 74,000 blades are in service.
150 million fleet hours have already been performed on MT-Propellers. The first MT-Propeller was shipped 37 years ago.
A factory certified network of 62 service centres, provides the best service and maintenance all over the world.
