Metrojet Clark safe after earthquake

Metrojet Engineering Clark, the Philippine maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility of the Hong Kong-based business aviation service provider Metrojet Limited, experienced an earthquake in Pampanga, the Philippines on Monday, 22 April 2019.

Metrojet has reported that the Clark team is safe and is following closely the government's instructions on any post-earthquake work arrangement. The current Metrojet Clark hangar appears to have suffered only minor damage, namely a few broken windows, and a thorough construction engineering analysis is being conducted. The construction site of its new earthquake-resistant and typhoon-rated maintenance facility, which is designed to withstand earthquakes up to eight on the Richter scale, is reported to have zero damage.

Metrojet places safety as its top priority, and the team will keep monitoring the current situation to ensure potential risks are under control and mitigated.

Metrojet Engineering Clark currently operates a 1,200-square-metre hangar and provides both hangar and ramp parking. It is a fully authorised repair station with approvals from the Civil Aviation Authority of The Philippines (CAAP), The United States Federal Aviation Administration (The U.S. FAA), the Cayman Islands Isle of Man, Civil Aviation Authority (CAACI) and the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA). Metrojet Engineering Clark is a well-developed MRO facility designed to augment both heavy and line maintenance capabilities in the Asia Pacific region. A 26,000-square-metre maintenance facility project is underway and target to be operational in Q2 2020.
