NFTA awards Calspan contract for Niagara Falls fixed base operator services

The Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority (NFTA) has awarded Calspan Air Services, a subsidiary of Calspan Holdings, the contract to continue operating as the fixed base operator (FBO) for the Niagara Falls International Airport (IAG). The 10 year agreement will allow Calspan to continue providing a superior customer experience to visitors in Niagara Falls.

Calspan Air Services became the fixed base operatorr for IAG when awarded the same contract in 2013. Under this contract, Calspan Air Services offers aircraft refueling, de-icing, cleaning, water service, air start, air stairs, belt loaders, crew cars and other services to smaller business class jets and private charter planes. These services are available to visitors 24 hours a day/seven days per week. Calspan Air Services also performs refueling services for U.S. Government and military aircraft, in addition to performing full service ground handling for the commercial airlines operating out of IAG including Spirit and Allegiant Airlines.

Calspan intends to further invest to support needed capital improvements to the FBO facilities and the services offered to its business and hobby visitors. “The Niagara Falls Airport has become a popular place for private planes, due to its proximity to downtown Buffalo and Niagara Falls,” Said Lou Knotts, CEO of Calspan. “Many don't realise just how easy it is to fly in and out of the Calspan Air Services FBO at Niagara Falls.”

Calspan Air Services recently welcomed Timothy Boldt as director of the FBO to oversee operations and manage its top notch staff. “Our service levels are what set us apart, we are fortunate to have an outstanding team of people who always go above and beyond to exceed our customer expectations,” said John Yurtchuk, chairman of Calspan. “Calspan has always been well known as a leader in the aviation industry, so this continued partnership with the NFTA is a natural extension to our business.”
