Press Release
Issued by Elliott Aviation.
March 8, 2019
Elliott Aviation, a leading business aviation services company, has received parts manufacturing approval (PMA) from the FAA to manufacture Prizm brand LED cabin lighting and electronically dimmable Smart Vision Shades brand electronic window shades. Both products will be sold under the Elliott Technologies brand. PMA certification now allows the company to sell to other Part 145 repair stations.
Prizm cabin LED lighting features full-colour spectrum mood lighting controlled through a mobile app or existing cabin lighting controls. It is available for upwash, downwash, lower accent, galley, lavatory and cupholders. The system has a custom preset mood lighting configuration and allows for customer selectable preset lighting configurations. The Prizm lighting is expandable to meet the needs of most turbine-powered business aircraft. Prizm cabin LED lighting is scalable to fit in turboprops up to wide-body business jets.
Smart Vision Shades are electronically dimmable inner window panes. When combined with Prizm cabin lighting, they can be controlled with an app available on a smart phone, or with the built-in controls. They feature an individual variable control at each window and are 99% UV blocking. Like Prizm cabin LED lighting, Smart Vision Shades can be installed in turboprops up to wide-body business jets.
The Prizm/Smart Vision Shades app can be seamlessly integrated with the Gogo ATG and L3/L5 high-speed data systems through the Gogo Vision app.
“Our engineering team has created both the Prizm cabin lighting systems and Smart Vision Shades based on market demand,” said Mark Wilken, vice president of avionics programmes and operational logistics for Elliott Aviation. “We understand the unique challenges that exist not only bringing new products to the market, but installing and maintaining those products. These products are created by an MRO for an MRO.”
The STC for these products was completed in a Citation Excel in December of 2018.
