AsBAA makes breakthrough in Malaysia

“The authorities have recognised the value of business and general aviation (BA/GA) to Malaysia's economy and have fully embraced AsBAA as the voice of the industry in Malaysia,” says Tan Sri Ravindran Menon, chairman of the AsBAA Malaysia Chapter and member of the AsBAA board of governors at the AsBAA Malaysia Chapter meeting, held 27 November 2018 at Subang SkyPark FBO, Malaysia.

At the meeting, AsBAA presented some of the challenges faced by Malaysian stakeholders. Further to the advocacy work of the Chapter, AsBAA will now be included in future discussions regarding local aviation regulations. This is a significant and positive leap forward and will allow it to better represent its members and further BA/GA in Malaysia.

The Malaysia Ministry of Transport was represented by Under Secretary for Aviation Mr. Mohamad Radzuan Bin Mazlan and Mr. Muhamad Fadhli Bin Zainul Abidin; Malaysia Aviation Commission (MAVCOM) and Malaysia Airports (MAHB) also joined the meeting. “We look forward to working closely with AsBAA,” said Mr. Mohamad Radzuan Bin Mazlan, Ministry of Transport Under Secretary.

Mr. Randhill Singh, head of Malaysia Airports Subang, provided a timely and informative update on the Subang Airport regeneration activities which are of great relevance to the BA/GA community in Malaysia. He said, “I'm most happy to participate in AsBAA discussions as I see it as an excellent platform of engagement to bring SZB to the next level.”
