Asian Sky Group's Greater Bay Area Aviation Report to be released at Airshow China 2018

Hong Kong business aviation consulting company Asian Sky Group (ASG) will be releasing the Greater Bay Area Aviation Report, a follow-up to the inaugural China GA Report published in 2017, at Airshow China, November 6-11, 2018.

The Greater Bay Area Aviation Report highlights one of the top economic regions within China, made up of the Special Administrative Regions (SARs) of Hong Kong and Macau, as well as nine cities in mainland China's Guangdong Province. As outlined in the Greater Bay Area Initiative, the Government plans to integrate this area, positioning it as an innovation hub while capitalising on its manufacturing strengths. The area would then compete on a global scale, alongside more well-known city clusters around the world like the San Francisco Bay area, New York metropolitan area and the greater Tokyo area. To integrate the Greater Bay area requires physical connectivity and, while two of the most recent major infrastructure projects link the area via bridge and train, a significant opportunity also arises for further connections via air.

To illustrate those opportunities and the current challenges presented by the aviation landscape in the Greater Bay area, the Greater Bay Area Aviation Report details the current general aviation market including the business jet, helicopter, turboprop and piston fleets. The current infrastructure makeup is also included, featuring commercial and general aviation airports, heliports, helipads, FBOs and MROs, as well as planned development for the region. Readers will likewise gain a better understanding of the current operating regulations.

“The Greater Bay area presents an opportunity for the region to compete with some of the major economic areas around the world,” says ASG managing director, Jeffrey Lowe. “But to reach its full potential, the region needs to be integrated via air as well. Mainland China, Macau and Hong Kong have, in the past and till today, operated under different regulations; this new region is a chance for more standardised regulations and, in turn, more efficient air travel that will open up the Greater Bay area and help businesses prosper. The Greater Bay Area Aviation Report showcases the region's current capacity for general aviation and the potential for what's to come.”

The Greater Bay Area Aviation Report will be released in English and Chinese. Pick up a copy of the report at ASG's booth at the Zhuhai Airshow, where we'll be exhibiting under the Hong Kong Pavilion (Hall 6, Booth H6E9).
