The International Aircraft Dealers Association (IADA) has named aviation industry veteran Wayne Starling as its executive director.
He will report to the organization's board of directors and chairman Brian Proctor. Starling will provide strategic direction and support for the organisation while independent association director Devri Pitts will continue to manage day-to-day operations.
Starling has specialised in aircraft finance for nearly 20 years and has additional decades of experience in sales, sales management, and marketing. His most recent position was as senior vice president and national sales manager for PNC Aviation Finance.
"Wayne Starling's vast expertise in sales, finance and strategic business development will help guide IADA and our committee structure as the organization develops third party accreditation, certification improvements and an unparalleled international platform to share information on the best aircraft available anywhere," said Proctor. "We are so very grateful that he is available for special assignments and this important position."
Starling has served the industry as a board member of IADA's predecessor NARA. He also was on the board of the National Aviation Finance Association (NAFA) and the National Business Aviation Finance Association (NAFA). NAFA recently awarded him its Lifetime Achievement Award for leadership, contributions and service to the association, its members and the aviation industry.
"This is a very exciting time at IADA with all of our initiatives to improve aircraft transactions for buyers and sellers," said Starling. "I am looking forward to assisting the organisation and its members realise our strategic objectives."
Starling was part of the startup Aviation Finance Group, which was acquired by PNC Financial Services. He remained with the PNC Aviation Finance organization until retiring in 2017.
