Aston Martin Hong Kong has announced that it will showcase its definitive GT, the acclaimed DB11 with a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine at the upcoming AsBAA Icons of Aviation awards 2018 (IOA2018), an annual charity gala dinner and awards show for the business and general aviation industry in Asia.
The move from Aston Martin Hong Kong is part of its corporate social responsibility programme, in which it gives back to the communities in which it operates. The iconic V8-powered DB11 will be showcased outside Hong Kong's Intercontinental Hotel on the evening of 10th November at the IOA2018. Guests, including celebrity pilot, Michael Wong, VIPs and leaders of industry will be invited for photo opportunities with the DB11 as part of the James Bond Diamonds in the Sky themed awards show.
The 2019 V8-powered DB11 is on sale now in Hong Kong with a recommended retail price from HK$3.18 million. Perfectly complementing the DB11's existing 5.2-litre twin turbocharged V12 engine, this new powerplant has provided the opportunity to reveal more of the DB11's sporting character, while expanding its global appeal with a combination of exceptional performance and improved efficiency.
At the Icons of Aviation Awards, now in its fourth year, AsBAA hosts over 350 industry leaders, celebrities, VIPs, industry associations and government bodies. The event is in support of AsBAA's corporate social responsibility programme (CSR) which includes donations to Orbis Flying Eye Hospital. Jenny Lau, chairperson of AsBAA said, “We are honoured to have the participation of such an iconic brand as Aston Martin at AsBAA's flagship annual charity gala dinner. The IOA2018 has a James Bond theme, “Diamonds in the Sky” and we also have Gulfstream as the title sponsor. Both brands perfectly showcase exceptional engineering, commitment to safety and quality, while demonstrating a commitment to giving back to the community. We are grateful to Aston Martin Hong Kong and proud to be working together.”
Managing director of Aston Martin Hong Kong, Gordon Choy, commented: “The Aston Martin V8-engined DB11 is a fascinating car of great character and nimble agility. The sound and dynamic performance reveals more of the DB11's sporting character.”
Aston Martin Asia Pacific, general manager, Asia, Shoichi Terashima said of the V8-engined DB11, “The DB11 is the most complete and sophisticated car Aston Martin has ever made. Now, with this new V8 engine option we are still blessed with the exceptional performance and memorable character, it is a remarkable GT car with its own distinct personality from V12. Beautiful has a new sound indeed. We look forward to showcasing the car to the business and general aviation community in Asia at the IOA2018 and to supporting AsBAA in raising funds for its humanitarian projects.”
