Press Release
Issued by Fokker Services Group.
May 22, 2007
Ever since its formal launch at the 2006 NBAA Convention, Fokker Services' Conversion & Completion Center has been overwhelmed by interest from many parties in its slots for 'high end' completions of VIP and corporate aircraft. A number of aircraft are currently in the Woensdrecht facilities for completion, while more aircraft are slated for completion later this year and during the course of 2008. Among the aircraft being completed right now is a Bombardier CRJ700, which will be delivered in full VIP configuration to an undisclosed customer in June, as well as an Airbus A319 ACJ, which will be delivered to the Stumpf Group AG, in Austria, at the end of this year.
On the basis of strong market demand for completions in the next few years, more completion slots have been allocated for 2008 and 2009, and some of those are currently still available, with a particular focus on ACJ and BBJ completions.
OEM heritage
With many of its employees having built up an enormous experience with the former Fokker aircraft manufacturer, Fokker Services is naturally well placed to apply its design, system integration and completion services to green aircraft or conversions of existing ones, as witnessed by its EASA 21.J Design Organisation Approval for Large Aeroplanes as well as its EASA Production Organisation Approval. In addition, there is a significant track record of aircraft having been converted to VIP or special mission use. This includes a number of Fokker 100s, Fokker 70s and F28s for various governments and private users as well as Gulfstream Vs for the Japan Coast Guard.
The Woensdrecht facility in general, which has 5 hangars with over 16,000 m2 (170,000 ft2) plus supporting workshops, has more than 40 years of experience in maintenance and modifications of all Fokker aircraft and numerous other types as well, including the Boeing 737 and Bombardier CRJ series.
Fokker Services, as the Type Certificate Holder for all Fokker aircraft types, currently supports over 800 Fokker aircraft worldwide with a full range of services. Logistic and component overhaul & repair services are extended to the Bombardier Dash8 series as well. Further growth Fokker Services in the component overhaul & repair market is being pursued as evidenced by the recent acquisitions of US companies AIRINC and Aerotron.
