Gore Design Completions, Ltd. to be awarded ODA in fourth quarter of 2009

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has announced its intent to award completions center, Gore Design Completions (GDC) an approved Organization Designation Authorization (ODA) in the fourth quarter of 2009. This designation permits GDC, with FAA oversight, to issue FAA certification approvals at its San Antonio facility.

Once in effect, the ODA gives GDC the ability to issue Special Airworthiness Certificates, Standard Airworthiness Certificates and Supplemental Type Certificates (STC's) approving all modifications made to an aircraft while at GDC for completion. Chief Operations Officer at GDC, Ron Soret, acknowledges "This authorization from the FAA will give GDC additional flexibility and efficiency and demonstrates a very high level of trust that has been formed between GDC and the FAA. We are very proud to accept this authorization."
