Patria Pilot Training selects Mechtronix Ascent Flight Trainer for MCC and IR training

Patria Pilot Training Oy of Helsinki, Finland, part of Patria Oy, a defense and aerospace group owned by the State of Finland and EADS N.V. (European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company), has selected the Ascent® Flight Trainer™ for its MCC/IR training. The Ascent® Flight Trainer™ is a fixed base flight training device manufactured by Mechtronix Systems Inc., a leading provider of flight training devices worldwide.

The simulator features a generic twin turboprop and is reconfigurable to twin piston and generic jet flight models. Patria will seek JAR-STD 3A FNPT II and MCC qualification from the Finnish civil aviation authority. Patria's AFT™ will feature real time visual software supplied by Redifun Simulation Inc. (RSI), offering superior resolution and light point brightness. This RASTERflite™ image generator is a unique component of the visual system that provides locally generated weather, moving models and special effects bringing FFS visual quality to the FNPT world. The trainer also features fixed matrix projectors with wide field of view on a cylindrical screen and Garmin 430 GPS.
