Rade Aviation announces further expansion on customs services to aid EU importers

In response to client and customer requests Rade Aviation has announced another round of customs approvals from HMRC, and further increase the locations they are approved to clear aircraft.

For the operators & importers of smaller aircraft, SEPs Twins & VLJs who bring these aircraft across the Northern route, whilst they may have all the importation details arranged at their final destination, any stop in Europe prior to that does actually start the import process.

Due to the geography, the UK sees the majority of delivery flights stopping here en route into Europe from the Americas, but when they do land in the UK they technically should be imported here. However this can be bypassed with a Transit Procedure that Rade Aviation is approved to issue at a growing list of UK airports.

"The UK customs & border agencies are seen to be taking a more aggressive stance on detecting, checking and investigating aircraft moving through the UK, this is probably part of a wider security issue but obviously they will pick-up on any failure to comply with the law, and that includes the EU VAT regulations" said Director Phill Rawlins "This is a a very simple and straightforward procedure that when arranged in advance does not delay or divert the aircraft, however if aircraft do get investigated by the Border Agency or HMRC it can obviously result in delays and have possible cost implications further down the line".
