The Isle of Man aircraft registry is operational

The Air Navigation (Isle of Man) Order 2007 legislation came into force on the 1st May 2007 and the Isle of Man Aircraft Registry for Private and Corporate aircraft is now operational.

On the very first day of the registry being in operation, two new 'M' registered Cessna Citation Jets were towed out of the hangar at the Isle of Man airport. Later in the day, one Citation made the first ever flight with the new registration letters from the Isle of Man to London. On 2nd May, the third new Citation, registered M-ICRO, made the first 'M' registered Atlantic crossing from the Cessna factory in Wichita, Kansas via Montreal and Reykjavik to land at Ronaldsway. Four more aircraft will be registered in the coming weeks to bring a total of seven aircraft in the first two months of operation.
