DART Helicopter Services Announces EASA Approval for AKV's Dual Engine Cycle Counter for the BK117 Helicopters

DART Helicopter Services is pleased to announce that their affiliated partner, AKV Inc. has received EASA approval for their Dual Engine Cycle Counters for all of the BK117 series helicopters. Transport Canada and FAA approvals have been previously received.

AKV Turbine Engine Cycle Counters are the most affordable engine cycle counters in the industry. The Cycle Counters are valuable in that they allow the operator to obtain the most operating cycle life out of the engine when compared to relying on the pilot to accrue cycles. The pilot process is very conservative whereas the cycle counter utilizes a much more precise and less conservative process based on the engine manufacturer's cycle counting algorithm.

The AKV Cycle Counters are designed to comply with the latest manufacturer's cycle counting requirements for the Honeywell LTS101 powered BK117A thru B2 and Turbomeca Arriel 1 powered BK117C1 and C2 (EC145).

Engine Cycle Counters Benefits:

- Reduced operating costs

- Increased engine cycle life

- High accuracy

- Field programmable

- Easy installation

- Easy to read 4 Line LCD display indicating:

- Gas Producer (Ng), Power Turbine (Np) real time RPM speed

- Ng & Np flight cycle counts

- Ng & Np engine totals

- Engine start counter

- Ng & Np Operation/Excursions counter

- Max recorded N1 speed

- Flight operating timer

- Revenue operating timer

"Using the cycle counter will immediately improve the bottom line for any operator and the low acquisition price will allow an immediate return on the investment," commented Jonathan Gunn, President of AKV Inc
